INTRODUCING THE PERMACITY FOUNDATION
Permacity Foundation is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, starting projects in 2022 to accelerate achieving a sustainable world through the strategic adoption and implementation of the most impactful technical solutions.
Our goal is bold. Accelerate full decarbonization of the Los Angeles Basin using effective carbon mitigation to energize global demand. Our vision is Become a leading non-profit organization bringing the best technical innovations to
reverse global warming and give the children of tomorrow a chance.
Energy efficiency is key to reducing carbon emissions. By adopting modern technologies and smarter energy use, we empower communities to foster sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Our mission includes replacing carbon-intensive energy with renewables. Partnering with local entities, we implement clean technologies to achieve sustainable energy goals.
Rejuvenating ecosystems like forests and wetlands is vital for carbon sequestration. Permacity Foundation supports restoration projects that enhance biodiversity and climate resilience.
Innovative technologies like solar HVAC, compressed air efficiency, advanced battery storage solutions, smart grid technologies, waste water recapture, and carbon storage are key to reducing emissions.
WE AIM TO SUPPORT REAL PROGRAMS WITH REAL IMPACT
Involves cultivating, processing, and distributing food and resources for urban areas. Examples include vertical farming, large scale permaculture, forestry rejuvenation and harvesting. Impact: Reduces carbon emissions by decreasing the need for long-distance transportation and refrigeration, which lowers fossil fuel consumption and is more compatible with vehicle electrification.
Urban solar refers to the installation of solar panels inside the urban network, including rooftops, carports, and public spaces that exist now and can be deployed immediately. Urban solar does not require risky transmission grid upgrades that could severely delay a decarbonized future. It also increases social equity. Impact: Reduces carbon emissions by generating clean, renewable energy, replacing electricity from fossil fuels.
Solar HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) systems use solar energy to provide heating, cooling, and safe drinking water energy solutions for 3rd world homes and for eco tourism. Impact: Eliminates carbon emissions by utilizing low cost renewable solar energy directly powering a variable DC motor/compressor for heating and cooling and providing auxiliary power.
Ocean forestry involves cultivating and managing marine plants and live species, such as coral, kelp, seagrass, shellfish, and molluscs. PermaCity would is promoting large scale programs in the Los Angeles basin as wells as extensive implementation everywhere. Impact: Reduces carbon emissions by sequestering large amounts of CO2 through the growth of marine plants and species. These plants and species absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and ocean, helping mitigate climate change. By paying the 3rd world to harvest and maintain their oceans, rapid carbon reduction and economic growth become harmonious.
Carbon farming includes agricultural practices that increase the amount of carbon stored in the soil and vegetation. This can involve regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, and biochar production. Impact: Reduces carbon emissions by enhancing soil carbon storage and promoting practices that sequester CO2. These methods improve soil health and productivity while lowering the overall carbon footprint of agriculture.
Transforms how we efficiently use energy. Fast carbon reduction can be achieved from upgrading compressed air systems that are used extensively in manufacturing. Advanced battery storage solutions, smart grid technologies, and high-efficiency HVAC further decrease demands. These innovations are urgent and crucial for optimizing use. Impact: Energy efficiency combined with advanced battery storage and smart grid technologies ensure that renewable energy is effectively stored and utilized, reducing the need for fossil fuel-based power.
